Description:

In the case of degree programmes with restricted admissions, it can happen that not all places are filled after the first round of admissions, as some applicants do not accept the offered place. If there are still places available after the main procedure, these are automatically allocated in the move-up procedure.

As a rule, the move-up procedure is based on the ranking lists. As soon as an offered study place is rejected, the person next in rank can automatically receive a letter of admission. This increases the chances of recruiting the most suitable candidates for a degree programme and actually filling all study places.

It is also possible to set up a separate registration for the move-up procedure. In this case, all applicants who have received a rejection notice can choose whether they would like to participate in the advanced application procedure. In this way, applicants who are no longer interested in a potential admission can already be sorted out. This further accelerates the allocation process.
