Description:
The series of applications for special admission categories listed below can easily be submitted digitally in the application portal. This can be done via a separate function or integrated into the application form itself. To avoid an increase in invalid applications for special admission categories, description boxes in easy language can point out requirements. The documents required to support the application can be uploaded online as a PDF. A submitted application for special admission categories can then be downloaded and evaluated in the same way like all regular applications. The fully digital implementation helps to easily forward applications to the right body for evaluations. In addition to the special admission categories listed below, institutions can also specify further internal categories.
Improvement of the average grade: If circumstances of a massive impairment of performance in the education of the final grade qualifying for higher education are proven, this disadvantage can be compensated for and the application can participate in the selection procedure with an improved grade/points.
Waiting periods: If there are recognised circumstances which delayed the acquisition of the university qualifying degree, an earlier date than the actual acquisition of the university entry qualification can be used through compensation for disadvantage in the case of a selection procedure after a waiting period.
Applications in public interest: Top athletes' quota: Top athletes can apply for admission-restricted degree programmes within the framework of a special quota. The exact requirements and award criteria can be determined, based on the module award regulations.
Preferential admission according to service: If an admission has already been issued for a study place, but the student didn't start the course due to a certain service, an application for preferential admission can be submitted for the same study programme within a certain period of time. The requirements for such a "service" are determined by law.
