Description:
Secondary or auditing students are students who are enrolled at one university and would like to attend individual courses at another university. Often they can also take examinations that are automatically recognised at their own university. The exact requirements and conditions vary between the universities.
Details:
In order to apply for a audition, an extra application category can be set up for this purpose. Similar to the guest students or junior studies, the role of "auditing students" is selected at the very beginning of the application process. The application process is then adapted according to the requirements of this role. For auditing students, for example, the certificate of enrolment from their university must be uploaded.
Applications as an auditing student are also subject to the qualitative evaluation in the application selection process. If they successfully pass this examination, they are enrolled directly in the chosen course(s) without having to book the courses again. They then have the same access rights for this course as the other participants and can usually also take the examination.
At the level of course administration, it can be specified when creating courses whether they are accessible for auditions. This results in a list of all courses possible for audition that can be accessed as a drop down menu in the application. In this way, applicants can directly select the courses for audition in the application process.
Some universities charge a participation fee or administrative fee for auditing students. In this case, the applications go through exactly the same process as for enrolment, except that here the amount requested corresponds to the participation fee and not the full semester fee. The system automatically assigns the right amount of fees according to the students role.
