Description:

Depending on the university and the study program, there are different types of aptitude tests, such as aptitude assessment procedures, study orientation procedures, aptitude tests, entrance exams, and other aptitude procedures. Basically, all of these are similar in that they check the suitability of applicants for the course of study before the start of the course and are required as a prerequisite for admission.

There are various ways of integrating such aptitude tests into application procedures:

Details:

  1. If an aptitude test takes place upstream of the application procedure, such as entrance examinations in arts, an application form and/or appointment allocation can be integrated in the upstream form within the application procedure. Only after successfully passing the entrance examination can the application process then continue.

  2. Aptitude tests that are integrated into the regular application form as an additional requirement (e.g. written aptitude tests such as subject tests, admission tests, proof of a completed study orientation test, essays, or research exposés) can be easily uploaded as a PDF by both applicants and administrative staff and assigned to the application.

  3. Downstream aptitude tests are set up as additional round in the selection process of applicants if they have already passed a first formal selection procedure. This can for example be an invitation to a personal interview, or practical tests can follow.

In addition, there are extensive appointment scheduling options for all types of aptitude tests:

- examiners can specify available appointment slots online
- Interface with facility management
- Individual or group appointments possible
- Random appointment assignments or preferences; for example automated assignment to
prioritized supervisors in the case of doctoral applications, or assignment to experts on the basis of
  pre-selections such as study interests
- Automated wait list management
